RoboTechnik Hong Kong listing enables ficonTEC’s next phase of growth

Investment will advance technology leadership, talent, manufacturing capacity and customer value as demand for scalable photonics manufacturing accelerates

ACHIM, Germany, September 29, 2026 – RoboTechnik Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. [Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX / HKSE) 3757], the parent company of ficonTEC, has commenced trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange following the successful completion of its Hong Kong listing.

The Hong Kong listing represents an important milestone in RoboTechnik’s development following its initial public listing in Shenzhen in 2019. The proceeds are intended to support further investment in ficonTEC, the Group’s specialist provider of high-precision intelligent manufacturing equipment for photonics.

This financial milestone supports the industrial and market opportunity ahead. The planned investment will strengthen the Group’s ability to expand capacity and scale in response to growing demand for its solutions, particularly as Silicon Photonics (SiPh) and Optical Interconnect technologies become increasingly critical to AI data-center infrastructure. It will also reinforce ficonTEC’s technology leadership, develop its people and global organization, and help customers move photonic technologies from innovation and prototype development into stable, repeatable and high-volume production.

Technology leadership for AI and Physical AI
Silicon Photonics (SiPh) and Optical Interconnect technologies are becoming increasingly critical to AI and high-performance computing infrastructure. As data-center architectures evolve, the industry needs reliable ways to manufacture the optical connectivity required to move growing volumes of data with greater speed and energy efficiency.
Photonics will also play an important role in the development of Physical AI, where intelligent machines interact with the physical world through advanced sensing, computing and connectivity. Beyond AI infrastructure and Physical AI, scalable photonics manufacturing will enable progress in Quantum technologies, medical technologies, aerospace, sensing and other advanced industries.

From innovation to industrialization
Capturing these opportunities requires more than device-level innovation. It requires repeatable processes, high-precision alignment, effective testing, strong yields and manufacturing systems capable of scaling. ficonTEC’s intelligent automation platforms combine fiber preparation, high-precision assembly and testing across wafer, die and module levels, supporting process stability, repeatability, yield and production readiness to address these industrialization challenges.
The investment will support continued technology development and capacity expansion, strengthening ficonTEC’s ability to help customers translate photonic innovation into scalable photonics manufacturing and reliable volume production.

Investing in people and expertise
Growth in these markets depends not only on technology and manufacturing scale, but also on highly specialized people and talent. The investment will support RoboTechnik and ficonTEC in developing its existing teams, attracting new talent and building the engineering, applications, operations and service expertise needed to support customers across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

“The Hong Kong listing marks an important step in RoboTechnik’s long-term development and reflects the strategic importance of ficonTEC within our RoboTechnik Group,” said Stefano Concezzi, CMO and Vice President at ficonTEC. “The proceeds are intended to support further investment in ficonTEC, enabling the company to expand manufacturing capacity, advance its technology leadership and strengthen its global organization. By investing in both infrastructure and talent, we want to give ficonTEC the scale required to capture the market opportunity ahead and deliver greater long-term value to customers worldwide.”

“This investment will give ficonTEC a stronger foundation for its next phase of growth,” said Torsten Vahrenkamp, CEO of ficonTEC. “It will help us expand capacity, accelerate technology development and strengthen the teams supporting customers worldwide. Our priority remains clear: helping customers industrialize photonics through reliable, scalable manufacturing solutions and supporting them from initial development through to volume production.”

A stronger platform for customer value
ficonTEC will continue to operate with its distinct identity, specialist photonics expertise and global customer focus. The investment will provide additional resources to scale operations, expand manufacturing and service capacity, accelerate innovation and strengthen customer support across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

For customers, this means greater capacity, faster execution and stronger support as their programs progress from development to volume production. It will also reinforce ficonTEC’s ability to invest in the technologies, people and global infrastructure required to serve a rapidly evolving market and create sustainable customer value.
